I love English... Et toi ?

... Toi aussi, bien sûr ! Surtout si cela te permet de discuter avec la moitié de la planète... Tu as peur de te jeter à l'eau ? Tu as croisé un(e) anglais(e) et tu ne sais pas comment l'aborder ? Voici l'occasion de t'entraîner : le magazine I love English a imaginé un dialogue entre Jane, une touriste anglaise, et Lucas. Que vont-ils se dire ? Vont-ils se plaire ou se détester ? Pour le savoir, lis ces saynettes et ensuite... lance-toi !

Chapter 1

WHEN LUCAS MET JANE…

LUCAS - Hi ! What’s your name ?
JANE - Hello. I’m Jane. And what’s your name ?
L - It’s Lucas.
JANE - Pleased to meet you, Lucas.
L - Where do you come from ?
JANE - I’m from England, from London to be more precise.
I’m on holiday here with my parents. What about you ?
L - I’m on holiday too. I come from Toulouse.
JANE - Where’s that ?
L - It’s in France.
JANE - Well, I know that !! I mean where about in France is it?
L - Oh, it’s down south, not far from the border with Spain. It’s a beautiful city. So are you on holiday for long ?
JANE - We’re here for two weeks. It’s our second week already. It’s gone so fast ! As we say in England, “time flies when you’re having fun !”
L - Yes, I know what you mean. We’ve been here for two weeks, and we’ve got one more week to go. We haven’t been very lucky with the weather, though. It rained dogs and cats the first week.
JANE - You mean “it rained cats and dogs !”
L - Yes, of course. Now it’s really hot – the weather forecast said it was going to be 30 degrees today. It’s perfect beach weather. I’m going to go and cool down in the sea.
JANE - That sounds like an excellent idea. I’m boiling. I can only go for a quick dip though. My parents want to go back to the hotel to get changed for lunch, so I better not be late.
L - OK, come along for a quick dip. IN THE WATER
JANE - Oooh. The water’s freezing. It’s a good job I’m not staying long !
L - By the way, there’s a party at my hotel. Do you want to come ?
JANE - Oh, that sounds great. When is it ?
L - It’s tonight.
JANE - What time does it start ?
L - About 8 o’clock. So, do you think you can come ?
JANE - Why not ? I have to ask my parents though. I’m not sure what they have planned for this evening. They might want to come with me, which will be a bit embarrassing !
L - I need to give you the address, and my mobile phone number, just in case you have a problem.
JANE - Yeah. Is your hotel far from here ?
L - No, it’s just round the corner.
JANE - OK. I’d love to come to the party. I better go and find my parents or I’ll be late. They’re over there, sunbathing on the beach. I need to give you my number, too, just in case the party’s cancelled. Come with me so I can find a piece of paper to write on
L - OK. Does that mean I have to meet your parents ?
JANE - Yes, don’t worry. They’re very nice. They won’t bite !

moi, l'anglais c'est pas mon truc. je prefere l'allemand !!
surtout que les profs d'anglais que j'ai eu etaient pas supers !!

Moi qui suis littéralement naze en anglais, j'ai été ravie de constater que je comprenais ^o). Enfin jusqu'au milieu du texte, après ça m'a un peu saoulée, pour ne rien vous cacher ^^'. M'enfin d'un autre côté, j'ai fait de grands progrès en anglais, je pense, ces derniers temps. J'étais obligée de parler cette langue, en vacances. C'était soit ça, soit rester dans mon coin ^o). Il n'y avait presque aucun français ^^'

C'est vrai que ça peut pas plaire à tout le monde l'anglais ! mais bon, beaucoup de gens parle cette langue donc vaut mieux avoir des bases en anglais parce que si tu pars dans un pays étranger et que tu parles pas la langue qu'ils parlent mais tu parles anglais ça peut toujours servir !

J'aiiiiime l'anglais !! mais c'est vrai qu'avoir des bons profs (et surtout des profs sympas^^) aide en général à aimer l'anglais ! moi c'est mon cas donc voilà !

England country and the english language are all I love. Like Mathilde, my dream is to become an english girl. I find this country very beautiful and the language very nice to hear...I enjoy speaking and reading in english (it's not a very difficult language to learn). Sometimes with my friends and my mother we talk in this language... In october with my school, I go to my correspondant's house... I'm very in a hurry to talk with them...

Moi je fais que de l'allemand...mais bon je suis trop curieuse, je voulais savoir alors je me suis aidée de la traduction en ligne... bon le truc c'est que les mots ne sont pas dans le bon ordre et mal traduits... oh, amy moka, j'aimerais bien savoir parler comme toi...( non mais je sais juste dire hello !"...voyez le genre...)
