Chapter 6
WHEN JANE AND LUCAS WRITE TO EACH OTHER…

 Dear Lucas
I can’t believe it has already been a week since I got home. The holidays seem far away already, and I really miss you.
I went back to school yesterday. It was good to see all my friends and talk about our summer holidays. Everyone wanted to know what I did in France. My best friend thinks it’s really exciting that I met a French boy. She thinks it’s great because you can help us with our French homework ! She’s such a romantic !!
It’s raining here, and I’ve already started to wear jumpers. I hate the English weather. It’s so depressing. The weather is certainly nothing like it is in France. You’re so lucky to live in the south.
I really wish I could be there with you now. I can’t wait to see you again. Thank you for a great week. I had a really great time. I hope you did too.
I’ve asked my parents and they said you are welcome to visit when you want. I can show you all the fun things to do in London – we can go to Piccadilly Circus, we can go on a double-decker bus, visit Hyde Park, go to Camden Market and try on some fun clothes…
I hope you will be able to come.
I’ve already got lots of homework to do, so I better go and finish.
Write to me soon.
I miss you loads. I love you,
Jane. xxx

Dear Jane
It’s very strange being back in Toulouse. School has already started, and I’ve got lots of new teachers. It’s really nice seeing all my friends, but it makes me realize how much I miss you. I keep imagining you coming to visit wearing the blue dress you wore to the party. You looked so pretty. I can’t wait to see you again.
I hope you will be able to visit. I’ve asked my parents, and they said that you can come any time. But I think they were worried that you would want to eat a typical English breakfast with baked beans every day. I told them that you like croissants and pain au chocolat too, so they are not so worried any more.
You must meet my dog, Rocky, too. You’ll love him. He’s so funny. We go for long walks in the park, and he runs around like a mad thing. His name is Rocky because he’s a boxer. Just like Rocky, the boxer played by Sylvester Stallone. And he’s got a very funny face, just like Sylvester!
I have to go now, my mum is calling me because it’s time for dinner. Tonight we’re having steak and chips (steak frites). It’s one of my favourite meals. It’s a typical French dish.
I’ll try and chat with you on Messenger next time.
Love, Lucas. xxx
